Excellent Podcasting on Every Budget, On the Road to San Antonio, TX with Dr. Kathleen P. King

NEW YORK – You never know where the next phone call or email will tall take you to. In this case, Dr. Kathleen P. King is visiting the great folks at the Acoustical Society of America for the first time this October at their annual conference. Kathy will be presenting a two hr invited training session on Podcasting Basics and Educational Applications in sunny San Antonio Texas October 26, 2009.

"This promises to be a most exciting event," says King, "because the audience is a mixture of people across grads and organizations, who may teach, oversee instruction, or consider using podcasting in other settings. Podcasting is when you record a message, interview, etc in a digital format, usually edit it and then post it on the web with a feed . This enables the podcast programs (aggregators) to pick up the feed and send it automatically to anyone who has selected it."

"My session will provide not only an overview of podcasting. But detailed "how to" guidelines, strategies for simplicity and best practices for using podcasts for teaching and learning. In that way participants will leave the session ready to ramp up."

King also says one of her strengths is peaking to mixed groups. "I enjoy the challenge and excitement of addressing a group of participants who have different backgrounds and needs. I find drawing them out, getting them involved and tying it together smoothly to be a very effective demonstration of dynamic teaching and facilitation. People do not come to my sessions and expect to be passive "
