Podcast for Teachers (sm) of Fordham University Unveils New Summer Learning Series for Teachers
The popular weekly professional development on demand podcast, co-produced by Mark Gura and Dr. Kathleen P. King, of Fordham University and Transformation Education LLC, has launched a special summer segment entitled "Summer PD." This segment kicked off July 16, 2007 with episode 96 of the podcast series which has reached over 3 million listeners to date.
Podcast for Teachers (sm) is hosted by Fordham University and provides educational technology professional development to educators via the podcasting format. Dr. Kathleen King and Mark Gura are both noted experts, educators and authors in the field of instructional technology. In this very special, award-winning distance learning initiative they have created a ground swell of academic resources, and global professional community.
Topics covered in the summer series topic thus far have included art in the classroom, a broadcast of their interactive presentation at the technology conference in Atlanta and resources about intellectual property and copyright.
Additional Hot Topics will include, but not be limited to advocacy in educational technology, beginning podcasting in the classroom, perspectives on evaluating educational podcasts, and many other practical and stimulating conversations.
The podcast hosts published a new book in April of 2007, Podcasting for Teachers, which builds on their expertise, provides an indepth look at podcasting in education, guides educators in understanding how it is used and in discovering how they can use existing podcasts, or use podcasting as project-based learning.
